Camps :: Giro
Giro Camp Follow the 2007 Giro d'Italia with Bike camp! This will be our fourth year following 'il giro' - one of cycling's grand tours. We are addicted to the atmosphere, the close contact with the pros, and the excitement generated on the passes and in the valleys on race day. This camp offers race viewing, great riding, and some transfers. 2006 Giro highlights: Our two Giro d'Italia Camps were both exciting in 2006. We started with a brief glimpse of the time trial in Pontedera where we got very up close and personal with the riders. But the best was yet to come in the mountains with a stage finish high above Trento on Monte Bondone and the delayed start the following day (the riders threw a strike at the start which was great for us as we stood on the start line chatting with our favorites). The highlights however were to be found in the seemingly infinite great rides and wonderful camaraderie of each of our two Giro camps.
Thanks especially to CSC pro Bobby Julich, a former bike camper (20 years ago!)who donated a jersey signed by all of his teammates to the Davis Phinney Foundation (sold for over $10,000 in a live auction).
